I will ponder/dream on/about this tonight while I sleep (too tired to stay awake now) and hopefully we will get more replies later. Do I have to erase the whole HDD before installing 10.8.2 cleanly, or just the Mac OS X 10.7.x partition for 10.8.2 clean install? If installing cleanly to that partition, how does one put 10.8.2 onto its recovery partition to replace the current 10.7.3? Does erasing the HDD and installing 10.8.2 void warranty/AppleCare?Ģ. From App Store, I downloaded the free Mac OS X 10.8.2 upgrade due to the new MacBook Pro from a few days ago. I will use to make a bootable DL DVD as well and do it easily (GUI!).ġ. I also have the free 4+ GB Mountain Lion/10.8.2 downloaded.

Whew! Do I assume I can just download these three iLife applications after doing a clean 10.8.2 installation and logging into App Store? As you use your Mac, it gathers bits of information that you no. App Store does see updates, but two refused to get updates because of Mac OS X 10.7.3 (needed to be upgraded first). Making a major operating system change is a great opportunity to evaluate. 🙂Ĭonfirmed, this new MBP does have those three iLife appications. the iLife applications these days refer only to iphoto, garage band, and imovie.
