The Henry Rifle was the progenitor of various lever action sporting rifles developed subsequently by Winchester. Inventor Benjamin Tyler Henry, working for business entrepreneur Oliver Winchester, patented a design for a lever action, tubular magazine repeating rifle in 1860.
